I had the pleasure of visiting PEI's newest alpaca farm a couple of weeks ago: Green Gable Alpacas is located in one of the most beautiful locations on the Island. If you ever get a chance to visit, you'll be amazed at how lovely it is. The farm is owned by Janet Ogilvie, an impressive woman who moved from Ontario to PEI to follow her dream (and she moved in January!!). She has a herd of 30 alpacas and is opening a retail store, building new fences, re-organizing the barns and paddocks and she also seems to be having a lot of fun. Here is a link to her website: http://www.greengablealpacas.com/
And here are some pictures from Janet's farm:
This is the view from Janet's back porch. It doesn't get any prettier than this.
If you look really close, you can see that Greg is out there helping to level the fence posts.
Janet made this rug out of some of John and Sharon's creative yarn. It will sell quickly in the new store.
That gorgeous guy on the right is Janet's herdsire, Keswick - an absolutely perfect alpaca.
This is the front of the store - it will be open when I get back to PEI next month and I can't wait to see it.
You and Greg continue to amaze me. that is so like Greg to be out there leveling that fence post.
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful ambassador for all the Alpacas in the world.
I'm so proud to be your sister.
