Weaving and Knitting

I always like to try something new when we are at the cottage in PEI for our annual holiday and this year I took a half-day workshop in weaving.  I learned to knit in January, but never found the opportunity to try weaving until I discovered a company called "Experience PEI" (experiencepei.ca) where you can choose from a number of hands-on Island experiences such as weaving, lobster fishing, chocolate making, sailing, and many others.

Sylvia Foy of "Woven Treasures" guided me through all the steps as I produced a lovely runner for my bedroom dresser.

Isn't it pretty?  Thanks Sylvia!

On the drive to PEI (which is 1700 km) I made these two scarfs for Erika and her cousin, Emma - you can really tell that they are for little girls!

And I started work on a blanket for myself - it takes 12 balls of yarn and is 54 inches long.  Wish me luck!
