Island Alpacas

We spent last week at our cottage in Prince Edward Island getting it ready for the summer. Doesn't time just fly by when you're on holiday? Here is the view from our deck last Friday evening. It doesn't get more peaceful than this.

I dropped in on the best alpaca farm in PEI one afternoon and found this going on:

Heather Jones and her sister, Paulette Jones were in the midst of shearing one of their 75 alpacas at Alpaca Bay Farm (http://www.alpacabayfarm.com/). It looks pretty uncomfortable, but this is the safest and fastest way to shear that is least stressful (for everyone!)

Serena and her buddies at Alpacas From Eighth & Mud in Stoney Creek are going to be sheared on Sunday, May 31st. I can't wait to see her first fleece but it's always a shock when they go from this:
