One of the things I really looked forward to at the Alpaca Ontario 2010 Show was showing my own alpaca in the ring. Maggie was in the class for junior huacaya females (grey). There were 8 entries, and when I saw them I knew that Maggie was too thin, and didn't have good enough coverage to place.
However, I had such a fun time participating and Maggie - well, if there was a first-place ribbon for best behaved alpaca, she would have won it. I was very surprised at how well she held herself.

In my wildest dreams I never, ever, ever thought that at the age of (XX) I'd be standing in an agricultural arena showing my own alpaca - it goes to show that it's never too late to discover a new passion.
